When the fan-favorably received Black Adam movie was released, its star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson thought he could be the figurehead to bring Warner Bros. and DC Studios’ superhero movies back to life, but the reality caught up with him pretty quickly.

After James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios and announced that Henry Cavill would no longer be playing Superman, things haven’t gone The Rock’s way. In Black Adam, a cameo by Cavill as the Man of Steel appeared at the end, which sent fans into a frenzy. But Gunn took it upon himself to kill that excitement.

It looks like the end of the relationship between The Rock and Warner Bros.

After Johnson received accusations of misrepresenting information related to Black Adam’s box office – he was a producer on the film as well – the relationship between WB and him seems to have come to an end.

Johnson stopped following Warner Bros. and his own film, Black Adam, on Instagram, so rumors are already circulating that he will be the next to be removed from the DCEU, even though he had plans to make a sequel to Black Adam.

The Rock posted on Twitter that this version is “100% not true. Never followed either account on IG. But the truth is that the relationship between the actor and the studios is apparently in peril.

The new management will start from scratch

Gunn and Safran have not yet made public their plans of what’s next for DC, but it is a fact that they will start from scratch, so it is very likely that there will be no more Black Adam movies and The Rock will stop playing him, although so far there is nothing official from either side.
