Papa Charles Mombaya (1956–2007) was a pioneering figure in Congolese Christian music. Born on October 31, 1956, in Kinshasa, he founded the choir “Les Ambassadeurs du Christ” in 1975, which won multiple awards, including Best Mixed Choir at the 1981 National Christian Choir Festival.
